Having taken into account the recent changes to travel, Shila is adhering to strict hygiene guidelines and hospitality protocols throughout COVID-19.
Shila’s size and planning caters for absolute seclusion and privacy. In this regard, we are tuned to the sensibilities of our guests.
Each of the six spacious suites features open-air areas, either through the Juliet balconies or access to the garden. All guests can use the hotel’s tranquil rooftop.
A breakfast basket is delivered every day to your suite, and we will stock the minibar with items upon your request.
The health and safety of our guests and staff is of paramount importance to us. Shila constantly keeps up-to-date with guidelines set out by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Hellenic Health Organization (E.O.D.Y.) and the National Health Ministry.
Our guests can rest confidently knowing we are fully informed on essential preparatory and prevention measures – ranging from the steps we take to keep hygiene optimal: including more frequent cleaning and sanitising, to guidelines on how to handle suspected or confirmed cases of the virus.
We already have very high standards for hygiene and cleanliness, yet we continue taking additional measures in consultation with global and local public health authorities. This means our hygiene processes are always rigorously improving.
Cleaning Products: We work closely with our suppliers to ensure we use virus-killing products to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This includes operational protective equipment.
Guest Rooms: All our suites are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, with particular attention paid to high-contact items like door handles. According to Greece’s official health protocol, in order to prevent spreading, cleaning staff must arrive immediately prior to arrival and immediately following departure. For guests who prefer their suite to be cleaned daily, along with a change of fresh towels, we can accommodate upon request.
Public Spaces: We are increasing how frequently we clean and disinfect public spaces, with a focus on the front desk area, door handles, public bathrooms, elevators, staircases, and room keys. Hand sanitisers are available for guest use throughout the hotel.
Back of House: We have increased the frequency of cleaning in Back-of-House (BOH) rooms (i.e. laundry room, staff kitchen).
Hands Hygiene: Our staff are frequently, and correctly, washing their hands. There is extra attention to avoid touching the face. They will also wear face masks.
Social Distancing: We suggest two metres of distance between staff and guests at all times.
Payment: We encourage payment by credit or debit card.
Symptoms: Should a guest show signs of illness, we advise them to remain in their rooms and consult the Front Desk. Our staff have been trained to prepare for a symptomatic case, and will notify a medical professional.
Stairs: All guests are encouraged to use the stairs.
Elevators: We advise guests to only ride the elevator with the people they are sharing their room with.
